B2 - Ben's Great Ocean Road Cycle Challenge
Story
G'day and thanks for visiting my 25,000spins fundraising page!
Cycling 300km along the Great Ocean Road is a big personal challenge for me - it will be the longest I've ever ridden! But that is not important. The best part about this experience though is knowing that I have the support of my friends and family - and together, we can raise money to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
The charity I've chosen to fundraise for is the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), which works in more than 125 countries throughout the world, including Australia (they run a Women's Refuge right here on the Sunshine Coast). In April 2012 I travelled to Vietnam with ADRA Connections on a volunteer building project, and got to experience first hand a small part of the development work they do. I also visited my brother who was working for ADRA and based in Cambodia for 2012, working on a community development project there. It's so encouraging to see the dedication and outward focus of the ADRA staff - both here and overseas.
I'm paying for all expenses associated with this this ride and associated travel, so ALL of your sponsorship donation will go directly to ADRA projects. Whether 1c per km or $1 per km, THANK YOU so much for whatever you can contribute! (Donations are tax deductible in Australia :-)
